Shedding light on the ethical concerns of zoos, the film highlights the poor conditions and mismanagement of wildlife animals at the National Zoo in Dhaka. It takes an observational and abstract approach to reflect on whether it is worth it to cage the wild for human knowledge and entertainment.

Pala Gaan: Enlightenment Against Social Darkness

Position: Researcher and Assistant Director

Doly Mondal, a former pala gaan (folk music) singer, recounts the challenges she faced to become a female artist. Her story reflects the struggles of other women in our society chasing their own dreams. Through following Mondal’s journey, the documentary explores the idea of using traditional music (pala gaan) as a way to give voice to the women of Bangladesh.
